Does anyone know if these are a good fit on a VR4 regarding offset etc?

They certainly fit!

People have used them in the past.

I was looking into putting some EVO IX wheels on my Leggy, but the offset/width was a bit to extreme for my liking. I started looking into the more narrow Evo VI wheels because the 6mm difference was what I wanted. The issue is... I don't like the EVO VI wheels. Then I ran across a set of EVO V wheels. Same brand, OZ, but are a split 6-spoke not the evenly spaced 15 spoke from the VI. They are OZ F1. I am waiting on rubber now but I will test fit them on the car and get some pics tomorrow.

Both V and VI are a 17x7.5 +38, 5x114.3, 67mm hub.

EVO IX wheels fit fine on our cars, You See has them on his car at the moment.

Brunty has Evo IX wheels on his leggy too. I personally think they look really good! Better than the VIIs I have on.

I'm biased, but I still think the VIIIs look better than any other. I think IXs look a bit like stock VR4 wheels but bigger. 2nd best I live VIIs, but they're not quite as agressive looking, but look good on the right car.

What size tires are on those IX's. I was going to get a set but the rubber (225/45) was just too wide to keep my wings free of rock damage.

I'm running 235/45's...The wheels sit fairly flush to the cars bodywork.
I slow right down on gravel so don't have any issues with shooting rocks..if you run narrower tyres remember that they'll be stretched over the 8inches anyway (get your mind outta the gutter you lot!) :D

I have run 235/45 on Evo VII rims (still 8" wide) and am now running 225/45. The tyres are different brands, but I think next time I will return to the 235/45. The clearance with 235 is not good, but the general feel and look is better.

How weird is this then.....

Evo wheels will go onto a gto no probs.

I put a set of GTo wheels onto a pre facelift to try them for a customer about 10 days ago and they stuck out of the arches by about 3 inches!

Do the evo wheels only go on the later cars , or did i just get an odd combo?

Cheers,

Ben.

what size and offset were those wheels?

Evo VII and VIII wheels are certainly very close to the edge of the car. On a VR4 without the plastic arch extensions, the wheels look like they stick out slightly proud of the arch.

Which is why I went with the EVO V, the 6mm of extra clearance helps the look.

I was in the market for the E5 ones myself, but these E9's came up with a offer too good to pass! ...Liking the subtle look too! :D

They were 38mm offsett i think. 18's.

Cheers,

Ben.
