clubvr4.co.uk is fine. Changes to .com when entering forums as expected.
Not being totally IT literate what's meant by "ping"/pan

BraindG
29-10-2007, 04:03 PM
k.

Open Start
Type CMD
Type ping clubvr4.com

You should something containing
Reply from 209.85.50.6 oxygen.hu-oxygen.com

Does the IP match/name match the above?

http://209.85.50.6/login

You only get the oxygen message if you link to the line above.

Besides, you might have the homepage cached in your own memory so it works from home, but not in new machines.

Davezj

If i do,
start
run
type "ping clubvr4.com -t" (-t much more readable).
I get reply from 209.85.50.6 32 bytes 107ms TTL=53
i gat the same for clubvr4.co.uk

Yup I use BT.

I just got the error again 15:45

It looks like it is looking for profile.php and not finding it.

getting diverted from the homepage to http://www.clubvr4.com/profile.php

BraindG
30-10-2007, 05:03 PM
hmm, mind trying the links under the "clubvr4" drop down menu?

they use the same style and code..

TAR
31-10-2007, 12:06 AM
Sorry for the delay in responding.

The links under the clubvr4 dropdown work OK.

I see the problem if I open a browser window and go to www.clubvr4.com it pauses on the hompage for a moment then forwards to the error page.

BraindG
31-10-2007, 10:18 AM
its weird, ive gone through all the code there... nothing points to profile.php - the problem is obviouslty that profile.php lives in the forum folder and not the root folder...

weird - seems like not everyone is affected either...

Crickle
31-10-2007, 12:09 PM
I know it sounds crazy and its only a suggestion... but... what if people who can get thru clear their browser history (cached memory) and then try again and see if it affects them also? It might be affecting everyone after all x

TAR
03-11-2007, 03:10 PM
I cleared cache and history but still get the error if I open the homepage.

It is OK if I'm on the site and use the home link.

Nick Mann

I changed from BT in the middle of last week. I no longer seem to get the problem.

Davezj
05-11-2007, 09:08 PM
i do not use BT but still hard the same problem.

But you seem to have fixed it now, no problems entering the site.

By the way i was NTL Cable/Virgin media.

OOOPS im getting this 404 message again, obviously it works when you do 'click here' as it says!

Did we ever find out what it was?

I know my membership is due in november, this isnt an early warning system or something to cough up?

Hmmmm..... So what has happened to your PC that's sorted the problem.... Hmmm.

You done anything like clear your internet cache or similar, Mike?

miller
30-10-2008, 12:59 PM
not in the last 24hrs when the problem seems to have dissapeared. but i do have Norton 360 working in the background at all times so goodness knows if thats done anything!

TAR
31-10-2008, 11:15 AM
I still get this intermittently. It usually lasts a couple of days and then its OK again. I don't think you will fix it!
