Hi,
Does anyone know where I'll find the speed sensor wire and its colour (V6 sport) to connect a sat nav to ?

Its an old clarion sat nav, needs a signal from the speed sensor wire.

Not going to swear to this, but on a v6-24 it looks like a White with a Blue trace goes from the speed sensor to the speedometer with a branch off to the ecu pin 86 which has a different colour code.. Can't guarantee the sport is the same so check carefully. Not sure where or even if you should tap into it without doing any damage.

Spot on, thanks for that I've now got a working satnav!!

Can i find this speed sensor wire (white/blue) in the Radio loom in my VR4 ,is it the same ?
Or must i connect it from the ecu ?

Won't be in the radio loom. There are many ecu pin out diagrams on here. If you search them out most give colour codes as well. The above post refers to a V6. Some VR4 colours are different.

Did the MMCS have a speed signal wire? Just wondered why there might be a speed signal wire in that area....

Good point Nick, MMCS might well have one. I understood it as he was looking for the wire, not that he'd found one in the loom. Doh!

I bought a HUD and have only considered
if I get the speed signal from the ecu
or whether further up in the center console, I can go to it

ecu pin outs.doc (83.0 KB, 311 views)

I made this speed sensor diagram for VR-4, but it's almost the same for V6 /yes
As you can see, HU connector C-93, pin 9 is speed sensor signal
C-83 connector is just behind the radio (big white 22-pin). Also quite easy to find location

Thanks Yes its help. then i must connect the speed signal at connector 3 at pin 10 white/green wire
I just wanted to know whether the signal I can also tap elsewhere
for example in the center console or behind the speedometer
