Haven't had the T1R's myself, but have a look at that test where they compare them against the GSD3

Can't really offer a direct comparison as they were fitted along with larger wheels, and the car they went on had a mismatch of worn tyres anyway.

Intuitively I'd say they are a noticeable improvement over the 16" Falkens I had on the saloon (which I was quite pleased with, thread here (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20042&highlight=tyres)) but whether they warrant the extra expense I'm unsure.

Would I buy them again - YES (If I'm feeling flush!).

i was given these prices for tyres.... (225/40/18)

Triangle Tr968 @ $175
Toyo T1R @ $230
Dunlop DZ101 @ $240
Goodyear Eagle F1 @ $260
all prices are for cash and carry, fitting and balance @ $15/tyre

i wouldnt even consider the triangle tyres,
the T1R is the cheapest off the lot i would pick from.

I've got Toyo's on the skyline - GSD3's weren't available on the correct size at the time, and there's been a bit of a scare with Eagles made in China (I think) shredding off their sidewalls.

I'm pretty happy with them - have just bought a couple for the Z as well. Good wet & dry grip.

They don't seem to be popular in the group tests though.

I've found goodyears increasingly difficult to get hold of. Someone told me that GY produce a run of tyres, then wait for them to run out before doing another. I don't know if that's true, but they certainly seem to be scarce in some sizes (245/35/18 and 275/35/19's in my case).

Given the choice, I'd still have Eagles...

I put T1R's on my car when I put the Enkies on. I am very pleased with them. They give very good wet & dry grip. They do snake a bit under very heavy braking though but not as much as the GSD3's did.

I've had them on the 306, I replaced the GSD3's with them in fact. I found them to be alot better in the dry, more responsive and had better turn in, they wore slightly better too. They didn't feel as good in wet weather though.

I wish I had T1Rs instead of the Hankook Ventus things on now. I put T1R's on Ernie when I first got him and they were amazing on the VR4. I also had tem on the SAAB 9000 Aero, only things that gave good grip with 225bhp/260lbft through the front wheel.

had them on twice , first set cam with my wheels and last quite well , I them went for harder wearing set but gave only reasonable grip . Not a single compliant about the Toyo's

I have the Toyo T1S rubber, they are birilliant. No idea about the R's, I have always used the S's and never had a problem with them, very dependable, which is waht you need from tyres.

T1Rs are great, for me Vredestein are the only tyres that better them in the wet. However, you probably won't be able to get them and they're not that much better.
