Filters on trans???? experts needed

I've just got myself a fully reco'd trans for my baby at a sweet price, its a '97' reco'd 12 months ago.

Only thing worrying me is that it has a filter on the top. My wagon is a 2000 and although the space is there for the filter on the existing box it dosn't have one??

Question is: does this matter? and will the '00' trans ecu work ok on the '97' box??

some of the newer transmissions don't have the filters, thats just how mitsi made them. I wouldn't worry about it too much, and you won't have any problems with the ECU

Thanx for that Brad. I'm looking foward to getting my machine back on the road again, A reco was going to run up over two grand and I was busy saving hard when I spotted a trans out of a crashed legy, reco'd about 12 months ago on trade me. Scored it for $620.00 Ye hah!
