think my clutch my have broken a damper spring???!!

the other day when I released the clutch to back down the driveway,
my car made a nice loud clunk noise, sounded like someone hitting an anvil with a hammer,

since then my car has been making a weird clicking noise from the clutch/gearbox area at idle, sounds like a couple of small stones being spun around inside?

also when slowing down I can hear a clunking noise much like a worn out CV,
also I can feel some shuddering when engaging and disengaging the clutch thru gear changes, while speeding up and slowing down..

can anyone confirm my suspicion or any other ideas?

could have. if you pull the bung out of the bellhousing you might be able to find some broken bits.

so just to clarify - if you have the car at idle and engage/disengage the clutch does it do anything?

Worse case scenario

Summat breaks big time inside the clutch and goes thru the wall of your gearbox :speechles

Happened to me !! Not on the Leggy .. But if it can happen to 1 car, i would say it can happen to any.. :(

yeah sucks!

the noise isnt there when the clutch is depressed.....

and its changed (the noise) now its more a quiet grinding sound!

whos up for talking out my gear box and inspecting things in a couple of weeks from now?

Yep, though so long as it isn't the 8th or 9th of December.

I think you aught to do as suggested first, and take a peek through one of the inspection holes in the bell housing :)
