Hey guys, ive read a few threads trying to figure out whats causing the whistling noise of my leggy... but still cant fix anything. Does anyone else have it? is it the monsoon shields? Roof racks? Side Mirrors?? i mean come on, engineers dont make a car that whistles do they?? haha (or do they :inquisiti )

fold the wing mirrors in while at 100kmh (just make sure the cops aren't looking) and the car will be a lot quieter. Main reason why I bought Ganador mirrors actually, I'm hoping they will make less wind noise.

Check the frame around the window. I have had this problem on a Galant and it was because the top of the frame had been bent away from the car slightly. When all the doors were shut it was obvious. I simply used a bit of brute force to bent the window fram back slightly so it was flush with the other door.

Not saying it is that, but it might be worth checking out?

You should try it with Monsoon shields, the noise is ridiculous. I ripped mine off, and was thinking of getting Ganadors, but I'm not sure whether they are still electric. And yeh, folding the mirrors in makes a big difference.

my ganadors aren't, but they were available in an electric model.

does yours have a sunroof? mine did it from around there. oppen it up, clean the rubber and mating surface on the roof and applied thin layer of rubber grease. hasnt come back

Hmmm, I have noticed at 200km/h that I don't notice any noise...
But that's probably because I'm **** scared, as the roads in NZ are have more lumps than a boxer and I know my cars going to explode like tinfoil if it hits anything. Although it's only 55metres/second... /rally

What size wheels are you running? Just curious, cos I have the standard ones and I feel uncomfortable at speeds approaching 180 for the same reason (bumpy roads)

17" 235/45s ... come to think of it, that means I was probably going 2% faster.

Interestingly back befor 98 octane, i had to use 95 and couldn't make much past 180km/h.

And yes, it's stupid to do 200km/h on a public road... :thumbsdow :bobby2: anything could break at that speed and it would be game over for you, or worse game over for someone else.

I find it helps to watch bad rally crashes, kinda makes you think a bit more before going hard. Now on the strip, or a track, that's a completely different story.

My parents used to have a galant in the 90's that would feel like it was floating on the road at about 150km/h... now that seems way more scary, the legnum seems to stay firmly planted.

it depends on the road. most proper motorway around Auckland is smooth and doing those sort of speeds is perfectly fine on it (or so I've been told)

I got a whistling around the door seal on the passenger side - but only at speeds above say 100km/h - and it's worse if there is a wind blowing side on. I moved the door lock latch bar inwards (on the B-pillar) slightly to tighten the door against the body and it has helped reduce the noise.

you can use one arm on the bottom of the door and another on the top and try to twist the door the right way, that should help :) It did on my white VR-4
