As some of you may know this aircraft is operated by the:

Swedish Air Force
South African Air Force
Czech Air Force
Hungarian Air Force

One of the virtues of this plane is it's STOL capabilities. Check it out.

Pity about the sound track - would have preferred the sound of the jet...

Yes, nice find.

The interesting point about that video is that it shows one of NATO's front line defense systems in operation.

That jet was taking off and landing (mostly) on ordinary roads in Sweden. Many years ago I worked for a Swedish Company and whilst driving one day I asked my passenger what the weird markings were on the road ......... he told me not to bother as they were for jets from the Swedish airforce - he then pointed out the small 'carparks' at the side of the road in the forest for these jets to hide in case of war with the Eastern Block.

Hoe cool is that ^^

That is pretty cool Physician... rumour had it that roads in the Eastern Transvaal were built with the same purpose in mind given the close proximity to AFB Hoedspruit.

Given the high landing speeds of the aircraft the SAAF was equipped with at the time I think that was more hot air than anything else.

The Swedes have some very good kit, the Gothenburg class AIP subs, the Leopard tanks...

They also have IMO, the coolest looking DPMs

But if money was no option then it'd be Eurofighter TYPHOON ftw!!! :D
