Lately I have been a bit too much into Galant. Every little thing that goes on out there about Galant I seem to be very eager to find out. From Auto boxes to tyres - you name it- the lot! I have probably read just about every single thread/page on this forum just to acquire even more knowledge about our cars. I don't know why.

I have never even been able to change the engine oil in the Galant myself but just for some reason I seem to want to know everything that goes on under the bonnet.

Is there cure for this problem?

Hehehe! No !

The squeeze was sick and tired of hearing me talk Galants all the time - even for a sentence, but she's resigned to the fact that it's part and parcel of me...

You can never stop learning about these wonderful - and unappreciated by the masses - car!

Nope, I've tried to move on a couple or three times but chickened out at the last minute. I hated the departing of my old Galant V6-24 even though it was being replaced by the VR4.
I'm sure there is a cure out there somewhere:thinking:

There is no cure.

I still miss my GLS, even though I've got the GDI... Every car I've ever owned has been an 8G. I keep looking at other cars, then return to salivating over a VR4...

What he said! I am a hopeless case, now having chalked up 5 Galants of my own. I still miss my GLS too - If I could afford to buy it back and run it as my 'Daily', I would! :afro:

I think the real cure will be if mitsi bring out a new Galant VR-4 :)

Hi

my names Ritch and I'm a Galantaholic

Ive had 3 V6 variants and 2 VR4s in 4 years

Ive been clean for a year now, but nearly fell off the wagon the other week.

Luckily my sponser HMG1K removed the temptation from me on that occasion and sent me back on the straight and narrow.

so its one day at time......

whens the next GA meeting? same time next week chaps?

you have to be worried when you have the dream i had last night. Went on holiday dad and mum picked me up in what i thought was going to be the jeep. But it wasn't it was a vr4. After ragging it around my dad said what do you think of ariadane then it clicked he bought me kierans car but it was trigger mauve vr4

Is there cure for this problem?

All is not lost there are plenty of cures.

For instance Wildcards cured his addiction with pagan ritual of fire worship, (he then went with a French mistress, but that's by-the-by).

The Wizard of Diddington cast un upside down spell to rid himself of his VR4.

But most sinister of the lot, Dr BernMc wrote himself out a prescription for some powerful datsunskyline suppositories, which seem to have done the job however his embarrassing rash persists.

Oh dear, nevermind. It's time for your perscription to be updated. Kindly go and visit Dr. McCuckoo and tell him that the voices are getting louder...

I'm now doing "cold turkey" after 4 years of "the habit" the source of my affliction has now been passed on to another "user" (soon to become a full member)

I have owned 4 and the new Lancer (Called a Galant in Japan) looks likely to be my next one (if or when I ever lose the VR-4)

Thanks Peter, I was very fortunate. Not sure about a replacement at the moment. Possibly a Golf R32 but don't yet.

Thanks N-J. That told me, changed as instructed:happy:

The VR4 was great. Going to be difficult to find a replacement. Not in any hurry
at moment I'll just wait until something takes my fancy. In the meantime I shall still lurk around here. Will try to get to Japfest to see you lot maybe grab a pax lap or 3.

Sorry is it the end of beautiful friendship /pan I hope not:happy: I'd love an RS but I'm not made money like you Brad :speechles

The VR4 was a great car probably the best car I've ever owned and the most reliable, but after 4 years. I need to experience something else.

bradc

I don't feel that way. For me 'the next' car will have to be better, and for me that means 4wd + wagon + good looks + v6 or greater, prefer forced induction, which basically means either mitsi release a new VR-4 or RS6's tumble in price. I can't say I've ever felt the need to get something different just for the experience, I want the best and for me that is the VR-4.

When I sold my 6g i thought that was it , I had the willpower, but then a year later a 7g became my fixation, her heart after many miles together ,gave up so there was a tearful separation. It was then I knew I was well and truly hooked as a shiny GLS took its place, not only that 4 years on shes still here but has attracted a VR4 onto the drive, I just cant get enough!
I think i need help!
