My car has looked pretty much like this for the last two years:

But now, in a huge and major visual change, it looks like this:

Whaddya reckon?

My opinion is the appearance of the wheels are a bit cleaner, but also a bit more like stock. I like the sleeper look, but no-one knows what the car is, let alone knows what the standard alloys look like, so I am open to honest opinions! The other main advantage is that Evo IX wheels are much easier to clean!!

You did the right thing IMO.

I preferred the former (as they look like mine), but can understand the reasoning.

Still looks good, either way. And can appreciate the "cleaning" comment.

The new wheels do look better - a lot less 'fussy' in their design. Lots of lines and angles and spokes doesn't suit the 8G.

However, I actually think you've lost some sleeper look... Simply because the new wheels allow you to see so much more of those Brembos - No bad thing. The car has looks like it has more..... "Intent" about it.

I know what you mean about stock, but as you say, rent-a-rep in his 320d doesn't know what the car is, nevermind what wheels it should have. Mind you, that doesn't really matter as you can't see what the alloys look like from the back of the car! /Devil5

Thanks for the comments, guys. The wheels also came with Yokohama Advan AO46 rubber on them, which the Evo guys on the MLR rave about. So far I too am impressed - it's a pity you can't buy them in the UK!

And K - I painted the Brembos black to try and stop them standing out! Like I have said many times before, the thing I like almost more than the performance is the Stealth Factor!! :P /pan

Thanks brad! Yours doesn't look so bad either! (The purple VR4, not the BMW knob accessory!!)

And Mr. Brunt - the idea was in my head before I saw yours - but you certainly proved the point for me!

I like them, but i've always thought the 7's gave the car an 'executive' look whereas these are a little more sporty.

You See in NZ has them as well on his car with black brembo's. His car is black though.

Either way they still look nice :) You still need to lower the front by 20mm though.

And I know you like the bmw - how could you possibly not?

I may lower the front a bit more.... Not at the moment though, too busy to mess with it!

And I don't have to admit to liking the BMW do I? I mean, 12 cylinders is just extra ones to go wrong, surely? :P

Prefer the new ones...

I find cross-spoke wheels a little fussy. Also not really a fan of radial many-spoked wheels (like Alpina wheels). Those are nice.

Close call !! The originals make the car look wider and the new ones suit just as well and look just as lovely in a different way...

Shame wheels and tires can't be like a tie... and you can just swap to suit the occasion!

This is how the new ones would look powder coated black, i had the exact same on the GTO. Am tempted for the Legnum but no no no its staying stock/pan /pan /pan

Nope - not powder coating them any dark colour! /pan

Where's the stealth factor going if I start doing uncommon things like that?
