Just looking around the web and found this car stereo lead that mutes the unit when a call comes through - it says it fits a variety of Mitsubishis including the 8G Galant.

Have we this facility already in our cars - or am I missing the point of this item?

Your link is to a Shogun speaker?

And most stereos come with a telephone mute connection - bu you'll need your handsfree system to have the mute output to connect to it for it to work. I guess I am saying that the system is usually a combination of handsfree/radio and has nothing to do with the car.

No mitsy came with sound transfer to car speakers from a phonekit some did come with a mute facility. this lead will work with any phonekit and most radios in mitsys and it transfers phone kit sound to car speakers and mutes the radio regardless of the type of radio , it plugs in to the oem radio block and on into radio or in to the adapter block if the radio has been changed .all decent phone come with a mute control which is all u need for this to work

you will need a hands free kit too, the telemute lead u have the link for plugs in between the handsfree controll unit and the stereo.

I had my handsfree kit in all my galants and it was a piece of cake to install
