My new record :)

Now even I will admit this wasn't a normal tank for me. I filled up at Takanini, got on the motorway and went all to Orewa on the motorway, then back down to Pukekohe then to home. I then made two trips to a friends place about 20km away, on seperate days. Then after coming back from Aus I went from home up to the Mangawhai Heads, then all the way back home, then today a trip of about 15km to the shops, bit of town driving, then fill up. So about 450km of the tank was driving on the motorway at a solid 100kmh, another 100km of back road driving at 80-90kmh, and the rest driving around in town.

I don't think I'll be able to beat it any time soon with 91, but I'm going to try a few tanks of Gull 95 and see what happens. My previous driving with the car typically got around 8.5-9l/100km, but that was doing about 70km on the motorway each day, and about 40km driving around town each day.

Brad by the sounds of things you would enjoy the TOTAL economy run. It's an unusual event held in South Africa and I think some other countries (not sure).

As you can imagine the main objective is fuel economy.

whats up with all of the Uno's?

I didn't go all out though, the tyre pressures were around 34psi, and I had the air con on for parts of it as well as the windows open. Some of it was done with 3 people as well, and I could have saved 12kg in wheel weight alone if I had my lighter wheels on it. Definitely still room for improvement :)

As for the Uno's, well they're pretty much the smallest car on the SA'n market - prime candidate for fuel economy runs. They're built by Nissan in RSA under licence :)
