Wheels Help plz

Currently thinking of upgrade my wheels
It's got 15" 4 bolt factory wheels at da moment.
I know nothng about wheels.. so need some help
If i want 17" what size do i need to look for?
Like i see smthng like 215/40z/R17 , 205/40/17 and what those each number reprents?
Lastly, what is offset..?

You will need 215 or 225 / 45 / 17.

The first number is the width of the tyre.
The second number is the height of the tyre (the wall size) as a percentage of the width.
Offset moves the face of the wheel in and out with respect to the side of the car. A lower offset will bring the wheel to the edge of the car, a smaller offset will move it towards the middle.

215/40/17 will fit, but it will be smaller than the stock setup.

215/45/17 is really what you want.
