View Full Version : Finally took the plunge....
....and bought a grade 4 2001 Galant VR-4 Type S tip @ auction in Japan, only downside is the shipping wait!
The car comes with Tein dampers and a Ralliart exhaust, can anyone tell me:
1. Whats the most likely Tein model? I'm concerned about the ride quality being too hard even on full height.
2. Was the Ralliart exhaust a factory option? How loud can I expect it to be over stock?
Thanks

Dunno about the Teins sorry
IIRC Ralliart exhaust was an option and isnt that much louder than std, just a bit more bassy according to some on here.

The Irish Family grows again.
Best of luck with the motor when it arrives.

Tein will be Wagon, Super Wagon or GT Wagon. I would be suprised if they are too hard - I have the Super Wagons and don't find them too hard at all. You can buy different rate springs for the Teins from a Tein Dealer if you feel you need to....
Enjoy it - you shall have fun, I'm sure.

Cheers Roberto :) Out of interest, do you spot many about the place? I see the odd Legnum every couple of months and theres a silver Galant knocking about Lucan for sure. One of the things that appeals to me about the VR-4 is the rarity factor.

As far as I know there is about 10 in the country, definitly less than 20.
Was in Dublin and passed a 96 Galant in a car part.
But they are very rare here.
Congratulations on the new aquisition. Don't forget to post some pics when u can.

What he said, about him!
Good news on the suspension, I've been in Tein equiped motors before and the ride quality was terrible.
On a seperate note, I notice that the previous owner removed the VR-4 badges for theat extra sleeper look, where might I get a replacement set?
