Johannesburg - A motorist caught doing 224km/h was among 13 arrested for speeding in Johannesburg on Sunday, Johannesburg metro police said.
The man was caught doing 224km/h in his maroon Audi A3 on the N1 near the Olifantsfontein off ramp at about 03:00, said spokesperson Wayne Minnaar.
"The man called a friend to bring bail money, but the friend was arrested for speeding as well - he was caught doing 202km/h in a 120km/h zone.
"Both men were released on a bail of R500 each and are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court during the cause of the week," said Minnaar.
A further 21 motorists were arrested for drunken driving at a roadblock at the intersection of Mooi and Jeppe streets, he said.
