Yesterday, I took the car for a high speed run. The 1st one I've done in a while. Anyway, over about 150km/h (93 m/h) the steering seemed to go all floaty and the car started drifting about in the lane. The road surface was a bit rough (but not atypical for NZ), so this contributed to it.

Anyway, could my shocks be worn out? The car is a on stock 225/50/16 wheels and isn't lowered. My tyres were at 2.3 bar (33psi) front and 2.1 bar (30psi) rear - the pressure specified on the door jamb. Also my tyres are a budget Indonesian brand called Accelera, but they seem pretty grippy when cornering and such, so am not sure if they are the problem.

This was of course on a private road. There is no place for excessive speed on NZ public roads! Kids remember that.

I assume you mean it needs a standard wheel alignment? Yes, I probably have not had one of those done in a while. I'd better book it in for one.
