this has been drawn to my attention

Battery Cover (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2459555095&category=43117)

I am not at liberty to say how, but wouldn't it be cool if I could arrange some with the VR4 logo embossed on them?!

Apparently radiator cap covers, oil filler cap covers etc can be made

I am on the case! :D

Hey,
I'll have you know mine was 'borrowed' from one of Lutons' finest Vauxhall Astra's.
It's amazing what falls off a pals works van during a lunch-hour!!

A club battery cover in ABS or carbon fibre would look COOOOOLLLL. :-b (but would Pete's lovely gold terminals fit underneath?!)

P.S Have seen these covers at shows made of stainless??? always seemed a bit of a fire risk to me?

Sorry Pete, it was you I meant, but I could have sworn you had upgraded your underbonnet earthing with gold plugs and terminals????
Perhaps too many VR4's and too many new faces for me last time at 'pod.

I've got a gold negative terminal but it has a cover on it.

As for fire risks, I was shocked to see SO many cars at Japfest and JAE last year that had very badly bodged wireing all under these metal covers! seriously dangerous!!!!!!

You could protect the terminals first and cover the underside of the cover to ensure complete safety.

Sorry to go off thread for a moment, but I remember a thread a while back about the improved earthing and kits that could be gotten for that there problem. Some kits were mentioned and I am mucho interested in getting one as my radio has been playing up and the garage think it is the earthing.

Can anybody recommend a kit or suggest what I would need to buy and from where to make my own. Ta.

Back to thread { } { } { } { } { (trying to mimic 1960's time-warp wobble effect...didn't really come off)

I can't for the life of me find the thread I posted in describing the one I made.

I basically bought 15mm cable and 4x 24c gold plated connectors used for in car audio and a heavy multiport 24c gold negative clamp.. connected altogther for no more than 25quid if I remember correctly.

Gears change better now that's for sure, it always started well anyway but no doubt it has helped a bit.

Looks pretty good aswell.

I can't find it either. Have searched on grounding. earth and earthing and even Maplin! (I vaguely remember that you got some of the bits from there.) Shame we can't find it, as it is one of the things I plan to do. I guess the photos are unobtainable anyway at the moment.

Sorry for further thread hijack.

Don't think anything posted before the "crash" works under the search facility. The only way is to search for all threads started by Mark

I think I hijacked the thread.. :$ so it wasn't me that started it. :-D

But yeah, the gold bits came from Maplins and the cable came from my local electrical wholesaler.

I may be wrong but didn't the thread start with someone ordering a special cabling kit from Japan? They had a link to the website too if I am remebering rightly. It may have originally been for another car, Impreza at a guess.

Can't find it.. :(

The earth block was around £7, the connectors were around £3 each x4, cover for earth lock was seperate at around £2, cable was something like £4.
