For those with auto boxes ...

I spoke with an auto transmission specialist today and she (yep!) said that the fluid should be changed every 24k miles or two years, whichever comes first. Didn't know that. Now running with a box full of brand new Dexron III :)

:uhoh2: I thought the INVECS-II was fussy about Dexron, and needed ATF SP-II or SP-III?

So says the dealer and the service manuals, and many peeps on the Galant centre? anyone know what the crack is?! :huh: :huh:

I've been using Castrol TQ Dexron III for 55,000 miles without any problem :) I suspect the spec is the same as ATF SP-III - Mitsubishi don't make oil, so who makes SP-III?

whats the official Mitsubishi service intervals for the auto boxes??

mine certainly didnt get the fluis changed when it was services at 24k...... :undecided

Mitsubishi say to change the ATF every 45,000 miles or 5 years :eek: on the VR-4.
