you can get a logging cable from ebay £15 + p&p but you will need to ground pin yourself.

I got one so the total cst was $25 evo scan + £18 for the cable a bobby bargin.

works a treet.

Wodjno, there is a new version of evo scan just out, which adds a few more bits and bobs. They send you all the upgrades foc.


Also, id be tempted to grab the more expensive cable. If the reflash protocol ever gets cracked, at least you can then use the same cable for mapping.

You have a bit of a faff on with drivers sometimes, but it should be all good.

Perhaps a group buy on the cables? I am willing to dig out the cash for this if it helps me set the car up right.

In fact even at the standard prices it's a little over £50 for the software and correct cable which is pretty good considering!

I use a VAG KKL cable with the addition of the pin 1 ground. I paid less than £15 on ebay, IIRC.

However, it's as Ben said regarding the reflash stuff. Pesonally, £15 is good value even if it is one day limiting. You can still buy an upgrade at the time, and your cable will still be worth a few quid!

Had to re-install EVO SCAN..

It's asking for my Serial Number.. Where do i get that from ??

Does it link to the website at all? I had to do mine via a support ticket so I don't know what the normal routine is. I was given a link to the software that also showed my key.

I emailed Hamish when I had trouble. It took a couple of days, but he mailed me my serial number.
