:speechles What settings do i use for connecting to my leggy, ie baud rate etc. ive been trying to connect but it comes up with this -

Info: Initialization Complete...
Info: Waiting for INIT Response...
Info: ECU ID: 00FE
Info: Connection successful...
Error: Unable to open COM1
The system cannot find the file specified
Info: Datalogger Ended.

It then just kicks me off.....

It shouldn't be looking for com1 it should be looking for the USB port if you have got the cable i have.

alos have you gounded pin 1 on the diagnostic port as evoscan will not work unless you do that.

Hope this helps

i used to get connection failed message comming up all the time but that was because i had not installed the usb drivers correctly. wich ones did you use and what OS are you trying to run it on. you shouldn't have a problem if it is XP but Win98 is a sod to get the drivers working.

there is a very good thread on here which has all this info in. you should get it be searching on "evoscan"

I may have found the answer.... i think as the lead is emulating a serial port , it needs to be set to com1 , ive done this will try it again in the morning.
