As the title suggests, does the V6 24v non turbo radiator fit the VR4 ???

Most places do not list the vR4 at all - incl Blue Print!!
A local Rad specialist has given me the dimensions of a std 2.5 rad , and it appears to be the same basic size as the VR4 rad ( 375mm high x 730 wide x 50mm thick at the 'Tank' reducing to about 30mm at the core.

If anyone has any factual info on this, or has practical experience of fitting a std 2.5 rad, please tell me more!!

If it helps, I'm running a V6 24 radiator on mine. No oil cooler as it is a manual, as was the car before I did the conversion. Think the top pipe was the same position, but can't honestly remember if I had to use a different bottom hose. As for cooling ability, I have never seen the temp gauge above half even when tracked.

I'm running V6 radiator on my tiptronic VR-4... Looks and feels absolutely the same to me...
But top hose is very different indeed

If you have an auto box, the radiator has an oil cooler in it. Does the V6 rad have that as well?

Not sure, as mine was from manual. PSB has an auto V6, I'm sure he'll let us know when he sees this.

well i used to, but i ejected that info so i could have some new stuff in there, honest:thinking: i did find out today though that a v6 has enough power to pull the front end off a micra /Devil5 so if you ever get asked what will your galant pull, you can now say thanks to my R&D exactly what it will pull /pan /pan ok ok that was all useless info, i shall go and sit in the corner now

Thanx all, for the replies ... but rather confused !!
Am i to understand that the V6 24v Auto rad WILL fit an auto VR4, but there is a possibility that the Top hose OR the bottom hose will need to be changed ???
if that is the case, how am i best fixed to find what hose WILL fit??

I really can't remember which hose is different although Galant only states it is the top one. I'll see if I can recheck mine tomorrow.

Top hose is a slightly different shape on VR-4 vs V6 because of turbo piping. But does it matter at all? Radiator is absolutely the same - all you need is to swap VR4 hoses on V6 radiator - that's it...

...of course... unless you want to use a VR4 rad on V6 and not other way around... :inquisiti
