About bov

Hi all,

I put turbosmart bov type 2 on for my 96 galant vr4, but it is not as loud as I expected, actually it's really quiet, is that caused by boost problem? I cut the spring bit and adjusted to soft as well for being louder. I checked the turbo found no problem at all.

Do you guys know what the problem is?

it depends on the design of the BOV. How much boost are you running?

im sorta in the same boat. ive got the hks sqv.
i think i know what my problem is though?

i havent correctly fitted the vaccum hose yet. Its on there... but not as tight as i would like it to be.

Id suggest. making sure everything is tight as!

Ohh and i did notice after installin the bov, i had a look at the manual (instructions) it said before you start disconnect the negative battery.
why would you do that? is that like just resetting the ECU?

the disconnect battery thing is just a precaution. in workshop manuals it say to diconnect it when changing an interior light bulb!

its just to prevent you shorting something out while you are dicking around under the bonnet
