Pc Help !!!

I haven't been using my desktop for a while..(well kids desktop) Went to log on and it says Loading Updates 3 of 3 0% completed, "Do Not Turn Off Computer"

But it just sits there like that and doesn't go any further..

I rebooted the PC but go's back to the same ?

Even tried it in Safe Mode but still the same..

Can't access any desktop icon's as they are not showing.. So can't "End Process"

Please Help :(

do you know how to open the case up?

Other things to try could be, disconnect from power source (unplug it)

or try restarting with your windows disk and see if theres an option to start up from a previous back up (however im assuming there isnt a recent backup?)

I'm guessing the Updates are Microsoft ?

Hmmm Shut down PC and leave for a few mins before restarting up might help

Try System Restore when you are booting in safe mode

Disconnect anything not needed ie Router/Printer etc bofore restarting

Glenn, you just have to leave it. It could be a major update it's installing that may take a little time to complete. I've neve known it to do an install at startup, only at shutdown so this is an odd one to me.
My only suggestionis to see if the HDD light is flashing whilst it's waiting and just leave it till it finishes.
