hehe, just got back from Zedy's - by the time i got to the garage, the engine was in and basically ready... , filled up with oil... plugged in the battery... looked at each other and started the car... took about 5-6 turns.. but then.. LIFE! vroom vroom..

had to mess with the idle to get it running right.. we then added driveshafts rebuilt suspension, put radiator back in.. but then we noticed a tonne of water on the ground... umg, so after a bit of hows yer father we located the leak... a pipe had cracked, so we just cut the pipe from there, and managed to get it on, its a bit tight... but should see the car leakless untill i get it replaced..

As Zedy said, bleed brakes, add gear box oil... (how much is needed btw?)MOT, tax disc.. and im legal.. HURRAH!... fingers crossed for tommorrow!..

yeah, well it was fine, bit weird compared to the golf.. clutch super light, but that has already left my mind.. used to it already in other words...

there was an awfull ticking noise when i was leaving Blackburn.. it sounded like that metal plate on the back of the brake discs vibrating... but by the time i got here twas gone... will keep an ear out for it..

there was also an awfull stink of oil when i stopped for fuel... but ill keep an eye on oil levels.. and a nose out for any further smells..

apart from that, perfect.. handles perfectly.. had a bit of fun here and there.. but mostly on motorway... and a few round abouts.. not ragging it.. jsut staying in 3rd going round..

so yeah.. all in all.. nothing feels that wrong about it... those new discs/pads are tremendous.. did an emergency stop with them.. and bang.. i was stopped.. very nice!... cant wait to try them out on proper run!.....

the oil smell could be $hit in exsaust or on the turbos when they were removed, i did tell the garage guy to pull the back plate back and he did pull it back cus it did make alot of noise when i drove the car out. also keep an eye on oil and water leaks (if any)

GREAT NEWS BARRY.
You'll get loads of strange smells as Mo's oily pawprints get burned off all the hot bits!! Nowt to worry about.
Good to have another stick-shifter back into the fold.

Everyone put a pound in and we will do sweep stake!
Two categories:
1. Mechanical failure
2. Human failure--> crash
