Over the weekend Dixon pointed out to me that a section of my exhaust is likely to be 2 inches in diameter rather than 2.25 inches as standard. This is from a repair I had done by Midas late last year because a section of the pipework was rusty. What sort of hp loss do you think I am likely to have, if any?

The car is a 1999 Legnum VR-4 type S with 280PS as standard, by the way.

I wouldn't think it would be all that bad if you still have stock downpies and cat. But then I have a thing against the stock downpipes.

I suspect there may be some power lost but it would be hard to say how much.

If you're running standard boost, the power loss is probably minimal: the time to get on boost is probably a touch longer, though.

if you lose any power it will be at high rev's. Best bet is to get a full exhaust and enjoy having that extra power :)

Yep standard boost. Oh well next time one or more the pipes rusts out, I will get a proper performance exhaust I guess.
