none... (you can't use the whole evo box, it does not bolt on)

you can fit evo gear sets in the vr4 box, (evo 4/5/6/7 5 speed gear sets, not the 6 speed ones)
but you need to use the final drive gear from the vr4 gear set, on the evo gear set for it to work.

what rpm do you do at 70mph? It should be 3000rpm. A VR-4 will do 140mph at 6000rpm and 167mph or so at 7000rpm.

EVO's are worse than VR-4's, they have similar gear ratios but have much shorter final drives.

Have you removed the electronic speed limiter?

Is that a manual or an auto doing 167 @ 7000?

I guess a manual?

At 3500 revs, my car is around 90 mph, so that would give 180 at 7000. (If I had the power to get there!!)

papageoms - If you are hitting the rev limiter in top gear and only hitting 200km/h then you do indeed have a serious gearing problem.

manual 167mph, auto at 7000rpm is 193mph

My auto legnum is doing 80MPH at 3000RPM /rally

OK, now those speeds are fantastic but what absolute max speed can a stock Legnum get with the limiter removed?

(eg Mine - '96 PFL with FL ECU) :)

around 250 or so

my VR4 top speed is 150km/h, lol

don't want to get speeding ticket

you'll still get a ticket at that speed haha :)

Mine accelerates from 100-150 faster than a normal car would from 0-50 and with the brembo's it slows down very quickly too. It'd be pretty safe for me to accelerate up to 150 and back down to 100 pretty much anywhere :)

ticket for 150km/h is less "painful" than a ticket for 200km/h !

still lose your license anything above 140 though

around 250 or so

haha. standard?

It would need a serious tail wind and it would take 4 mins to get from 200 to 250 :-)

haha, i drive 150 only for several seconds to overtake, most of the time i m a "good" citizen driving around 100kmh or less<------another main reason is oil price, always up and up

some of the guys in the UK have posted pics showing that sort of speed from stock cars. It would take a very long time to get there though

have u time your acceleration (safer with someone else time it for u) ? from 0 to 100 or 100 to 150 etc

note : dun get ticket

Yeah, 'Tis true. The bruntingthorpe Jtuner results bear this out. 140ish MPH came up reasonably easily on the two mile test straight for all the cars. However above this speed they pick up speed much more slowly. Not surprising really - Takes a lot of power to hurl a 1.5 tonne metal brick through the air!

If they're anything like the scoobs, the ECU starts doing trickery at 140mph anyway, a sort of "sofly softly stealth limiter". You can go above it, but the acceleration just isn't there anymore.

Defeat a few ECU features and suddenly the high speed responsiveness is back!

Fitting a PowerFC to a standard WRX was a real eye opener for me. Ran it on dyno before and after, and with a few corrections for UK fuel, it only made 15bhp more than the stock ECU on the shop dyno. Took it out for a VMax run to make sure the limiter was gone, and was astonished that VMax had increased from an indicated 142mph to 150mph. Bearing in mind these speeds were probably closer to 130 and 139, that's still a big difference!

I don't think we have that at all, just a hard cut at 180kmh (indicated at ~190 on the speedo though)

Yup, my needle is off the clock when the power just goes away. annoying - might cut that little wire at the next workshop day?
