I'm looking to get a set of EBC greenstuff pads for my '99 (FL) 1.8gdi legnum, any where i look they only list the 96-98 1.8 (Product Code: DP2830 EBCFU3511) will these fit my car or is there a major difference. Thanks in advance for any help

Sorry - I can't be sure. Wodjno or psbarham may be good people to try PMing. There aren't many 1.8 GDI owners on here.

i've only had a quick look at mine, and that was to see if it was on facelift carriers, and it is :smug: :smug: :smug: :D

but the calipers do look like standard V6 ones so the pads should be the same :scholar:

excuse my ignorance but what does that mean? are you saying the 2.4 gdi has the same calipers as the 2.5v6? i was using performancebrakes.co.uk reference and and it seems that they changed after 98 on the 2.4 the v6 and the vr4 but it doesn't have a reference for the 1.8gdi after 98.......... can you see my predicament ?

on the bigger engine models they changed them to 2 pot calipers as part of the facelift, but the lowely little 1.8gdi still has single pot calipers the same as the prefacelift 2.5 v6 and gls models.

ok that makes a bit more sense. so your 100% positive that the 1.8 stayed the same even tho there was a slight engine power change.96-> same pads?

ps: you have the best avatar

well i wouldn't say 100% because i havn't compaired the pads, but they do look very very simliar, and tbh why would mistu cast a whole new caliper for a small volume model, if you want to make sure take one of you old gdi pads to a local motor factors and get them to compare it to the 2.5v6 in their big book of brake pictures (normally a bendix one)

do you know what, most of the gentlemen on here are quite taken with my avatar, i can't for the life of me figure out why /Hmmm

As far as I can tell, all facelift's had the same twin pot brakes.

wrong, in fact wronger than a wrong thing on a wrong day thats had a wrong pill:inquisiti the facelift 1.8 viento's have single pots on the front and drums rear, wtf for i don't know, surely there was enough v6 set ups about for them to be able to use those, but hey ho

drums on the rear of a Legnum :speechles

yup, shocking ain't it, but never fear as with all things PSB and cars plans are afoot to remedy this problem :scholar:

strange. my 1.8 had two pots on the front same spec as a VR-4. but it had drums at the rear.

Stupid mitsi, why can't they be consistant??

I figured that if my lowly 1.8 with drums had the same twin pots, that the entire facelift range (at least jdm spec) would have twin pots.
