I notice a very strong resemblance of some of the Galant VR4 suspension to that of the Second generation eclipse.

I know in my year, 1988-1993 its the same as the First generation eclipse

Yes... This is one of those things we've noticed too. Some stuff does fit - For example the wheel bearings. However, looking identical and fitting are two very different things. As an example, I ordered a rear toe control arm. When i got it, the dimensions are identical, however the rear bushing is too big to fit on the VR-4's subframe.

That is also very similar, but would it fit?

^^^ I have used in my EC5A & E84A VR4's, Energy Suspension bushing kits for 95-99 Eclipse. It fits, no problem...just more NVH.

Do all the bushings fit Edmund?

Kieran, the transmission stabilizer bushings don't fit.
I can't remember if the shock bushings fit, but I think think they do.
Too much NVH for the bad roads here. I eventually replaced them with stock bushings.

Do they fit the rear as well then .Bit strange if the rear arm bush is too large on the one you ordered Kieran

Sorry, I should have clarified that. The problem was the metal inner eyelet. It was too long by about 5mm.

So the bush is the correct diameter. Just a case of machining the eyelet

hey guys.. some of you would know this is being discussed in ozvr4 as well..

Edmund have you got pictures of these bushing fitted on your car? I'm pretty sure alot of the members in oz would like to see for themselves that they do fit.. as you know some of these cars have gone through tough times back in Japan.. I believe they'll all fit.. except for the one part that you mentioned..

Sorry, no pics.
But, I can assure you that the 95-99 Eclipse kit was used on both of my cars.

HI, I have purchased one of the esclipse kits too.

Well had a look under the car today, in the first pic I have marked with a red star, the bushes at the front that can be replaced with this kit.

I am going to buy new lower control arms as I want new ball joints and this kit does help the ball joint.
I will press out the new one on the replacment arm and insert the Polyurethane one on the inner end.

The curved lower arm has no new bushing with this kit so you would have to replace the curved lower arm too, well not really unless you have troubles with it.

The rear bushes kit as marked in the next pic.
BUT by the looks of it the rear knuckle bush inserts (x3 on each side) are about 2mm short, so maybe add a washer on each end or just tighten it up so it takes up that 2mm gap?

Also noticed that the kit does not come with the inner bushing for this arm.
Has anyone replaced this arm before?
