Hi Guys, my '93 galant 2.5 24v 4wd (6G73 engine) has developed this anoying habit, and I'm looking for the cheapest fix as the car's coming up for what might be it's last MOT. Bearing in mind that this doesn't seem to be a common car what are my chances of finding another sump? what other cars use this engine (wiki says only a load of foreign stuff), are other 6G sumps interchangable or would it have to come from a transverse engine 4wd car? Any help greatly apreciated.
cheers julian.

I think a GTO non-turbo or Mitsubishi Sigma 24V (not the 12v estate) sump would be the 1st place to start - They also use the non-turbo 6G engine, albeit in a 3.0 litre capacity.

Can you not plate or repair the existing sump?

Plating the existing one would be difficult though not impossible, there are pin holes over quite a large area and the rest is pretty thin. repair would probably mean encasing most of it. was hoping for an easier plan.
