hi all have just bought a vr4 legnum off a mate never even heard of them till he took me out in it.needless to say i have badgered him silly and have bought it off him as i loved it .now i have too sell my st 200 mondeo because its too slow this site will be a great help thanks all/rally

Preventative maintenance is a big part of the VR-4's reliability. Search around the site (e.g. 'running costs', 'insurance') and you should find things you need to know.

Couple of pointers from my first few months of ownership:

Most owners ensure that they run Amsoil 0w-30 fully synthetic engine oil. And if you have the auto, make sure the ATF is in good condition - you do not want to kill the gearbox! Again, Amsoil ATF is better than the standard ATF anyway, and is the way forward for most auto owners. The extra few quid now is well worth it.

Speaking of well worth it - the annual £20 membership fee is great value. Not only do you get access to a greater wealth of information on the members' area, you also get 20% off at Sky Insurance (who are great at insuring imported and/or modified motors) and 15% off of Amsoil products (which alone will pay for the membership fee!)*.

thank you all for the welcome the st 200 is an x plate 204 bhp totally standard i have had 5 years of fun but not a patch on the vr4
