The guy who has the details of every single E31 in the world last heard of chassis number CC88060 (the black one) in 2003 when it was for sale, so he was very happy I managed to find it. I actually saw it driving in Wairau Park yesterday.

The interesting thing is that neither of them are warranted at the moment, and haven't been for some time.

The Schwarz Black one is one of only 2 RHD's in black with Lotus White seats, mine is the only one in Daytona with the Lotus White Seats. I'm only mentioning this because it is a pity we don't have a similar registry for VR-4's to show how many where sold and with what options.

Also note the black one is a 'sports car' and the red one is a 'saloon'

No idea how or why they claim both of them have 4 seats, I dare them to try!

Interesting that neither of them has a WOF but licence is valid for one of them. Perhaps they are sitting in garages waiting to be sold or gathering dust?

Or perhaps their owners are also waiting for various bits and pieces for it (like you Brad).

Those cars must guzzle loads of gas, so maybe the owners found them too expensive to run and stored them for use later. I guess they were only multi-millionaire's cars when new, but nowadays the owners could be just about anyone.

The Red one was bought 2 years ago for $100k plus. I'm not sure on the figure, but I managed to track down the guy that bought it into the country and he sold it to someone for $100k, he said that the guy he sold it to was his mate who sold it about a year later and made money on it.

In 2003 the Black one was sold for 26000 pounds, then turned up in NZ, so the people who bought them did have a bit of money to throw around. Still, cars that use 15-20l/100km, have 90 litre tanks and are horrendously complicated to service and have virtually no spare parts available in NZ won't be very popular at the moment.
