Avatar animated gif limits

Hi Guys

Does anyone know what limits there are in respect of the avatar?

AFAIK, the pic dimensions can be no more than 150x100.

But what about file size and/or number of frames in an animated gif file? Nice But's must have about two hundred frames!

I am, if you haven't already guessed /pan, looking to update my avatar with something snazzier (although there's not much snazzier than a Mitsubishi Tredia!). I don't intend on creating anything that huge (I believe that there are still people on dial-up after all, although my broadband is more and more occasionally resembling dial-up :inquisiti), but just something that will hopefully be better!

my avatar is a gif and ought to roar but doesnt seem to want to do it!! any ideas??

have you tried switching it off, and on again?

seriously: i'd double check and try to re-upload the original - they work, as you can see with mine.

just swapped it over then put it back
it's a gif
it's the right size
it's only 48kb
am i doing something wrong?

Only the first frame was kept when scaling from 120x120 to 100x100 for the avatar...
