I still cant get rid of this fecking CEL on my Black Galant. I do know that the sensor that the ECU reckons is faulty, is fine.

So!

If anyone's got a knackered pre-1991 Galant 2.0 GLSi or a Mitsubishi 2.0 Petrol Chariot/Space Wagon, let me know. I need an ECU.

Drat, thought you'd got it sorted. Oh well, the search continues!

It's 90% sorted. The original problem (Of refusing to start and threatening to conk out at any second) was fixed by replacing the caps in the ECU with fresh ones and the oldest trick in the book, cleaning out the idle stepper motor. If I disconnected the CEL bulb, you wouldn't know there was a problem, other than it's heavy on fuel (Only managed 28mpg on a run!).

I have found a couple of places that supply the ECU that I need, but I want to see if there's something cheaper out there first.

Theres 3 Galant ECU's on EBAY.. Although it doesn't specify what models there for ? But it does give the Part Numbers ..

Hmm, no joy from them I'm afraid.

Part Number I need is MD167737 - Well, that's the Galant ECU, however I think the Chariot/SpaceWagon ECU would also fit.... I think!:inquisiti

I have a 1990 engine ECU from my 2.0 GLi (SOHC) somewhere... If you want it I can send it over for you to try it. If it works (should work): good for you, if not, send it back. It was a completly new one fitted 7 years ago. I'll need to check the capacitors just to be sure btw. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Sounds good. What is the part number for the ECU?

Did your 1990 model have a catalytic convertor and an Oxygen sensor?
