Question to guys with Brembos fitted.
What is the minimum ET of the rim to provide enough clearance fo brembo calipers?
Most wheels comes with ET - 45, would that be enough? Is there any other dimension I need to look at to clear brembo? As far as I know Brembo recommends minimum 3mm clearance between calipers and rims.

Advise please.
Thanks.

et is almost irrelavant as the brembos are massive Ie my can fit kad 6 pots but id need about a 30mm spacer for the fronts minimum

It's almost a case of trail and error to see what will clear them
the shape of the inner face off the wheel is critical.
Best off to see the evo boy to see what wheels they fit

This is the biggest bit :) Evo 5+ wheels are the go, so anything that will fit those should be fine. :)

I agree. The spoke design is the important bit -that can have a bigger effect than the offset.

If it fits an Evo, then it will most probably fit a VR4 with Brembos.

So basically every wheel, brake disc and caliper that is designed for EVO 5+ will fit facelift VR4's ?
And instead of looking for stuff for VR4, I should look for EVO 5+ stuff, correct?

I've seen a set of 35mm offset wheels that cleared brembo's by 1mm, yet the standard EVO wheel size is 38mm and they clear by about 5mm. It really does come down to the individual wheel

So basically every wheel, brake disc and caliper that is designed for EVO 5+ will fit facelift VR4's ? Errr - not quite. Some wide wheels or very low offset wheels will rub the VR4s arches. But it is a good rule of thumb.

And instead of looking for stuff for VR4, I should look for EVO 5+ stuff, correct? That is what I would recommend.

yep, what Nick said.

Anything lower than 35mm offset will stick out too far and cause problems.

Cheers guys, the wheels I want to buy got ET 45 and they are recommended for EVO as well so presumably they should be fine.

Thanks again.
