As Mr BDA somehow managed to wrestle my record breaking 14.015 run on the strip from me, by recording a dubious 13.999 secs !!! :$ :$
I'm pretty keen to redress the balance by going back down there, & putting the record straight !!
anyone else interested in making the next RWYB ?? & this time I'll strip out my interior & aim for a 13.7 secs !!! :-b :-b

Interested.... Would like to see a bit of competition between you and BDA! Assuming I can make it, I'm up for spectating and general stirring of the sh!t. The next is 14th March, I think. That or the one after on 21st?

According to the Pod web site an event has been a cancelled this Sunday and they are doing a RWYB instead. I shall be dropping in to give it a go in the afternoon.

Thanks -I didn't know last signing on was 2.30.
Was there a long wait to get on track ?
Must try some of this 106 fuel - do some before and after runs like you did.
Will keep the seats and everything in it, but may clean it for extra aerodymanic efficiency and weight saving - should be worth half a second.

Can't make it this weekend. In London. Good luck, though!

not really, at most around 15 mins, normally around 5 mins. but when the place gets busy, you'll be pushed to get 3 runs in, in the day !! :stare:

I think my seats weighed about 30kg, my amps and pc stereo install weigh about 20 and I am significantly heavier than you, so you were probably still lighter on the day! :D

Looks like over the next few months things could get interesting!!!! ;)

To get home with the car in one piece would be good !

I hope to get to below 14 on normal fuel, but not by much. It would be nice to break 100 mph terminal speed.

I had some fun today at the Pod.
Kept the seats etc in and ran on Optimax at 1.1 bar. Didn't try the super fuel.

Best run was 13.899 at 98.6 mph. Theres a bit more to come if I could get the starts sorted. I couldn't stop it edging forward on the brakes, which meant I fouled twice.

Kept up the honour of Club VR4 by winning all the 'races' I completed.

Top job!! So now you know how accurate your black box recorder is!

Not really sure about the accuracy of the black box - I wasn't clever enough to do a timed run with it working. Like Derek said, getting it all co-ordinated on the line isn't easy. One of the times when I fouled I was trying to set it up - I didn't try it again - I felt very foolish fouling on the line after all the queuing.

nice one Pete !!! 13.899 is a damned fast time running on 'normal' fuel, & with a full compliment of upholstery !! :-D
got to agree, holding 350 horses, with your left foot, at 2500 rpm is a bit daunting !! & I found the lights seemed to take an eternity to change. :rolleyes5 . didn't fancy cooking the gearbox on the start line !!
Who was along side you to teach a lesson to ???

Cheers Derek, it would be good to go with some more VR4's one day.

Lined up against a Rover 400 coupe turbo, Ford Fiesta, a very noisy and quick Nova and a Toyota Celica GT4.

I didn't see many times, but didn't see any cars in the 12's, a few in the 13's and 14's and loads in teh 15's

Well done Pete - another impressive showing for the VR4 at Pod. If only I lived closer I would be there at least once a month.

Looking forward to June now for the weekend event - will be my first run with the boost controller fitted and hopefully some of that 106ron fuel if it's still available then ;)
