Two Richards and both with daughters called Jessica... heaven help us :D

Only kidding... many congratulations to you both, pleased to hear that Mum and baby are doing well.

Oh and Dick...... When you get yourself together, you now have 20+ years of being wrapped around a very small baby finger. :D

To be fair Physician, my hard work only lasted 20 seconds (twice for good measure!) ;) The labour kicked off about 2am and then the final bits and pieces didn't really happen until 17:00 (although do you count it as labour if the waters haven't broken? If not, it was a 6.5 hour labour).

Thanks very much for the messages, I'll bore Angela with them when she gets home...I got seriously worked up by it all (I'm pretty chilled until I start worrying about something and then I get seriously worked up as the nerves build and everything just falls apart!) - felt pretty helpless during the whole process and couldn't think of what I could do to help, which in turn knackered me as I was also just stunned by the whole process - a new life was arriving right in front of my eyes and I was amazed by it all. Lack of sleep over the last 2 weeks also helped with the issues in my head but thankfully I got it together in the last 6 hours of labour and think I helped (didn't tell any of my poor jokes!).

Cut the cord and held her whilst Angela was getting checked over...truly amazing experience...I can't wait to get them both back home now.

I'll return to my usual manly-self over the next day or so, but you will have to indulge me with my wishy-washy chat for a couple of hours.

Congratulations sir. Lack of sleep over the past couple of weeks may be nothing compared to what is to come (so I'm told). Good luck!

Yes, on the phone in the delivery room - all gadgets had been switched off so we could use our phones...looks like tomorrow is home time so I may get out for a wee cycle later today as the last one of free time for a few years! ;)

Baby seat is already on order so that is covered, but until she can support her head, I'll go biking with a papous on (or whatever it is called) - worse case she becomes an amazingly effective mudguard!!! I'll have her strapped to my chest looking forward so she can watche where we are going, reckon that would be more impressive than watching her dad's face turn red then blue!!!
