I am planning to buy a Legnum VR-4 and I was wondering what are the service intervals on these cars, average cost of a service, mpg when driven steady, how often is it due a big service like timing belt etc. What is the most common parts to fail on them and are they expensive for spares. Was just wondering before I spent money on one.

There's loads of info on that subject mate.

A good start is the Buyer's guide:

Then, have a search around - Terms like MPG, Insurance, Service and common faults should yield good results!

Welcome to the Club!

What the man said! ^^^^^

Post up roughly where you are. There may be an enthusiastic member near you willing to talk to you endlessly about them. If you are near Redditch, I can fulfill that role! :P

Hi Peter, I live in Alness, about 30 miles north of Inverness. I was planning going down to Yorkshire to look at one in Jap Performance UK does anyone know how good they are to deal with.

Jam,

There are a couple of good members cars that have just come on the market, may be better condition than any garage could sell on.

This the link?

Looks in brilliant nick!

Have to agree that looks a very tidy example and at a realistic price.
Don't overlook members cars though there's few to choose from.

Yes, it does look a tidy example. Price is a bit high, but it's the low (relatively) mileage which may be bumping it up? Personally, low mileage (for an old) car is over-rated, and I would not pay a premium for it.

White would make it a non-starter for me. :(

Looks a really nice example. Price is definitely worth it if the cambelt service has been done.
