The book is about 148Bhp on both the FWD and 4WD Gti 16v; not a clue on orque, but the 4WD has lower gearing to give near as dammit torque figures to the 2WD :-b
I also get the benefit of extra grip & rear wheel steering which keep the back end in line instead of wallowing like some kind of beached sea-creature - dont know if this is a problem in a FWD Galant, but it has been in every other large saloon/hatch I've ever driven :undecided
PLus [in both GTi formats] you get one of the most tuneable platforms ever to come out of Japanand the bottom end can apparently take up to 350Bhp before rebuilding & strengthening is necessary :p
My car is the 2wd model and it grips like f**k never had a problem with the rearr, mind you it is lowered and got 225/45/17s on so that might help.

I still have the standard suspension and VR4-style 15" wheels on mine, running 195/55 V-rated tyres [I changed the profile slightly from 195/60 as the wallowed around like tractor tyres] and I put most of the 'hot' hatches round here even on their uprated equipment :-b I've chased down a few high-end BMW & Mercedes in my time too - even kept up with an RX-8 on Saturday afternoon ! :sad3: believe me, that 4WD is some serious s*** :stunned:
I'll be garaging mine in a month or two to get some serious work done on it & we'll see how she rides when it's on decent springs & rims :rolleyes5
To tell you the truth i dont really know what they are off.I THINK THEY ARE OFF A GTO/FTO AS ORIGINALLY THEY WERE 5 STUD BUT HAVE BEEN PROFESIONALLY DRILLEDTO FIT A FOUR STUD.

I've not completely topped it out yet, but mine's still standard & gets to 135 pretty handy :rolleyes5
It's not the top end I enjoy it's the fecking off around corners & upsetting far 'better' [more expensive] cars that gives most pleasure; My girlfriend lives in Nottingham & the run down there often throws up a few midlife-crisis types who have a go :-b
