My imminent i-phone order looks to be set in concrete with this news!

Very nice and I'm sure future releases and other developers will bring out more impressive and refined programs to use

I just bought it off the iTunes store. £7.49.

Just going to load it up & take a spin. I'll let you know how it does...

Oh, it's in the sports (?!) category for those who are after buying it.

It's not going too well at the moment - the app wont calibrate (& it's needed, the iPhone accelerometer is ~10% out front to back, it's bang on left to right).
Whilst looking about this issue I also found g-tac which does a similar & has the phrase on its website ".. & remember to drive it like you stole it."

Woohoo! Got it loaded ......

0 - 60 = 4.47 secs

I still wouldnt buy an Iphone just for that, technology is far to out of date, the N95 has an accelerometer, ok thats a rubbish phone aswell, but it did have a cool app to be turned into a light sabre

Calibrated. Off for a quick run before the footy.

Pit: The iPhone has a light sabre whhhhhhhrrrrooooosh thing also when waved in the air. And a spirit level. And bluetooth that is an elective mute when it comes to pairing. And a camera that's one step above an Etch-a-sketch. But you would still not be able to prise it from my cold dead hand. & it's built for the internet, which is handy as I've got nothing to do with my left hand when driving now I've got an auto. Just got to find something for my left foot to do

Well I've had a play: it's measured my COTY at 237 HP (what's that in BHP ??) with a best guess weight of 3630lbs & a drivetrain loss of 28%. 0-60 took 6.99s. It was only one run - I'll try some more to see if they're consistent. I've nothing to test against so it's all moot really.

Let you know tomo what other runs show.

I was hoping more for this kind of image seeing as they were daft enough to buy one! ;)

Ummm, mine doesn't seem to work very well ........... 0 - 50 was 8.39 secs (not even 60 mph although my speed was reading over 70 mph - it said my max speed was 52.1 mph).

More testing needed ...... /Grrr

Aha! Calibrating is a must. Did numerous runs earlier today both with and without boost on.

With boost:

Not in order ........ 0 - 60 mph times = 6.1, 6.1, 5.7, 5.6, 5.7, 5.9

Without boost:

Not in order ........ 0 - 60 mph = 6.5, 6.5, 6.8, 6.7, 6.9, 7.1, 6.6

Not ideal by a long shot but quite interesting to get an idea of performance of car and lack of driver performance.
