The chrome line along the top of the headlights and grill isn't actually that bad, but I still wouldn't have it

Could those chrome doo dats cause the body panels underneath to rust? And could your remove them without scratching the car?

Anyway, if I was looking for a VR-4 and that one was selling at a good price, the chrome would not necessarily deter me from buying it. I would never apply the chrome to the car myself however.

Chrome doesn't rust so shouldn't exacerbate the formation of rust underneath it?

But couldn't the chrome clip ons trap water and then cause rust on the panels underneath. :inquisiti

"HELL YEA!"
my old E30 BMW had chrome arches fitted, the arch looked and felt solid then one day i deciided to remove them, so i could see how good the body work was behind them

before i removed the arche's it looked like this, a very clean and straight E30

You have to remember that two different metals will have different potentials and therefore the electrical charge between them can promote rust.

Yuk! Chrome does not suit that Legnum!

Heh, well I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that chrome should be left to the classics.

One car that springs to mind belongs to an elderly guy down here in Invercargill NZ that has added that much chrome to a Toyota Corona its actually a joke. But it's not just the excessive amounts of chrome on the outside, but the massive amount of chrome INSIDE.

I keep thinking back to that scene in Austin Powers' 'Goldmember' and how this guy should be saying "I love chroooommmmme".
