OK guys 'n gals - I need some suggestions as I really am not making much progress on my own.

I need some new transport.

I currently have 2 cars:

I run a 1993 e36 320i (170k miles, 2 owners, fsh, all paperwork since ever) as a daily - I have a 120 mile round trip to work and she returns 36mpg
I also keep a Shogun Sport Equipe (2003, 25k, 2 owners, fsh) for holidays and occasionally carting big stuff around (not 36mpg!)

I still need an estate-type vehicle for "those occasions" and I need a daily runner.

Any suggestions

I had thought of getting a cheapish leggy, use on the track and for "those occasions" (I have just rejoined CVR4!!) then get a daily (could possibly be an e36 cabrio).

So many different combinations my heads beginning to burst!

Oh, I guess the BMW is worth £1k, the Shogun £6k and I could bung in another 2-3k.

HELP!!!

You could get a V6 manual estate to fulfil both roles I guess and have some cash left over, or of course get a nice VR-4 and get a boring 1.6-2.0 car as your daily driver.

Keep the BMW as the daily - it sounds pretty good on fuel (and it's not worth a great deal in a sale/part ex) and swap the Shogun for a Legnum.

seconded - keep the beemer till it falls to bits and sell the shogun sport and buy a leggie.

what sort of MPG does the shogun sport do?

Sweet Fanny Adam!! - Maybe around 24/25 which with the price of diesel makes it interesting on the wallet!!

Anyone want a diesel guzzler (brilliant workhorse) ?

good luck getting rid of the shogun, worth naff all. with the new tax scheme no one will want it, why you can pick up cayennes and rangies for about 17k

The MMCS isn't that bad, and it's really easy to replace the stereo part of it (I did, but I put the original back in because I needed the stereo for my GTO)

Unfortunately it probably is due for a cambelt, it was done around 40,000 miles ago I think (although I can double-check the paperwork when I get in tonight). But I won't be knocking anything off the price for that, I've already dropped the price of the car enough I feel!

yes. but if a 50k+ cayenne only a few years old is only worth 17k now, and rangies i have seen go for about 10k
