Missing airport cat spotted
6:00AM Thursday August 28, 2008

Verdelho, the 1-year-old cat who escaped from his cage at Auckland Airport before he was due to fly to Canada two weeks ago, is believed to have been spotted at the airport.

Owner Kyle Clark said a cat matching Verdelho's description had been spotted a number of times around the airport carpark.

It does occur but on not a large scale. No automatic weapons or things like that (although it has also happened: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aramoana_massacre)

more importantly, how the hell were customs and maf so completely useless that it took them so long to even just spot the cat, let alone catch it?
