Don't know how accurate it is but my manual says the following:

Saloon: Auto - 1520kg Manual - 1480kg

Legnum: Auto - 1590kg Manual - 1550kg

To add to the confusion, my Legnum sales brochure (1998) says 1570kg for Type S, 1550 kg for Type V.

Presumably options make a difference - Leather is presumably heavier than fabric - a sunroof adds weight - wheel/tyre combos could make a difference etc.

yea i have lightweight racing wheels, no leather interior

but i have the gps system & a sunroof....i guess the best way is jus to get it weighed

1600kg's is a heavy beast :|

does anyone know if a fibreglassed new front bar will b lighter then the standard?

Best thing to do is take the car to a public weigh brigde and they will tell you for deffinite.

Legnum VR4, auto, full tank of fuel, scattering of tools in the tool tray in the back, and mine came out at 1669KG + weight of driver and passengers.

Just to let you know 60L of petrol weighs 45KG.

I think the 1550KG puplished weight of the car is a dry weight (without any fluids), think of how much this lot weighs (these are very approx values so don't start pulling me up on values) 10L ATF, 5L engine oil, Transfer case 1L, diff 1L, ayc clutch 0.5L, ayc hydrolic 1L, washer bottle fluid 5-10Lish, power steering 1L, cooling system 10Lish, etc etc, it all adds up. so
My car with me is 1790KG, which is much more than the 1550KG published value. so if you are trying to do HP cals with software or gadget then.

Do you self a favour and get youself to a weigh bridge and do it properly. However that said the weigh bridge will only give you the value to the nearest 20KG, as it is designed to weigh 20ton lorrys not cars.

Hope this helps

Dave

God job you have wheels or you wouldn't get anywhere ;) /pan /haz

I used 1690kgs on mine with a half tank of fuel and 89kg driver. The day after I sold it I was offered a chance to go on a weighbridge.

I have weighed a prefacelift auto legnum VR4 with sunroof and leather, a few small tools in the back and under half a tank of fuel. There was no-one in the car and it weighed in at 1660 kg on a weighbridge calibrated to within 5 kgs each way.

Nick, it was your figures tha I based my weight on originally as I had the same spec and a few extras in th car but I reckon I may have been a little under if I needed to add 89kg for me in it. So the RSM showing 250ps should have been 300ps /haz
