Such a shame it's in the US and the shipping costs would be horrendous....
Did I recall a thread about getting some 'front ends' containered to the UK?? were these from the US?
For ~£300 plus a share of the shipping, I'd go for one of these bonnets 'cos mine needs a respray anyway.
Just noticed '8ggalant' has put a CF bootlid on his Galant, from the same company, he could probably vouch for the quality of the product.

You may also get caught on the VAT to pay as well unless its classed as a gift ;)

I guess so Nick, I've only been clobbered once for duty in over 20 purchases from the US.
I definitely don't get an overwhelming guilty feeling that I already pay far too little tax and that I really should go and declare an item that gets through 'the system' unscathed!!
£300 = ~£50 VAT , is it that simple?, I can't remember.

who needs expensive bonnets like that, when you can have a cheap vented one like mine ??
vents; £55
fitting; £200 [ not satisfied ]
filling, priming etc; £40
paint, 1/2 ltr base coat & laquer; £45
painting; £100
:$ :$ :$ :$ :greedy:

Wasn't it worth it, to watch your son grafting away??
This thread has got me thinking now.......Hmmmm. is it possible to get a good paint finish on these CF bonnets??......just leaving the mitsi logo, Mitsy name and VR-4 name masked off in quite small lettering on the very front of the bonnet ( just so that you can see under the paint it is a carbon bonnet). A little more subtle than the 'in-yer-face' full carbon bonnet.
/ retires to reflect that the original justification for a new bonnet was to avoid respraying the current one!!

The way it's worked is as follows.
Cost of Item+cost of shipping+import duty ( usually between 5-8%) + VAT.
I have already looked into these bonnets and worked out that it would cost approx £555 all in. :undecided

That is not too bad a price if it is a top quality product! Bet a new one from Mitsubishi would be more than that! :sad3:
