Johannesburg - Fifteen motorists were arrested in Johannesburg for speeding, metro police said on Sunday.

Senior Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the highest speed was by a 35-year-old man who was caught driving at 208km/h in Midrand.

"He told officers that he was taking chances to drive at that speed because he didn't expect officers would be on duty," said Minnaar.

In another incident, a 35-year-old paraplegic man was arrested at the N1 Allendale offramp for speeding after he was caught driving at 188km/h on Saturday.

All the motorists were charged with speeding and released on R1 000 bail.

They were expected to appear in the Midrand Magistrate's Court on Monday.

I have heard of a guy in a wheel chair who drives a wrx sti with hand controls ect. He has written off 3 wrx's that i know of grabbing the accelerator instead of the break.
