Would it be cheaper for them if all calenders where bulk shipped to a Committee member and then split and posted on.

As we order more the price does come down,so for 100 it will be £6.27 each, but I would like to keep the price at £7.92 + VAT and give the dirrerence to a charity.

On one hunderd calandars ordered we would have £194.00 to donate.

Ok busy day and one that as seen a few of these calendars go to good homes.

The New Zealand parcel as gone and Roberto in Ireland, yours is on its way to. I was told that it will take up to 4 days by the airmail, so just PM me when you get them.

Some of the UK calendars went tonight to, with the rest on the way tomorrow, weather permitting.

We have 7 left in the shop if you would like one can you place your orders with Peter.(Spirit)

From this venture, after the bill for the first proof was sorted at £35.00, we made a total of £20.00 extra which was given to "Children in need" on the night a few weeks ago.

If we want this to be doing this again next year ,Chris at Darwen press is willing to sort it out for us, but if we do I will be starting this a round july so hope for some good photos from Castle Combe.

valleyforge1
04-12-2008, 12:55 AM
If you can Pm me when you get your calendar that would be great.

Ok just for me to say I hope you all get your calendars, Its had its ups and downs and if your happy with the service we will hopefully sort it again next year so just for me to say Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year to you all.

Cheers The Forge

valleyforge1
06-12-2008, 12:02 PM
Ok all the calendars in the shop are now sold.

I have 2 left in my posseion so they are going up at £10.99 plus postage and packing. As xmas last post to "The rest of the world"as gone, on the 5th December, and pretty soon "Europe", I think best that I keep it to posting them to the UK.

So if anyone would like one of the last two please E-mail me and we will sort something out. First come first served.

If they dont go this week illl stick them on E-bay.

Cheers The Forge.

got my calendar yeterday. thanks good work.

All the pics look good. and i know there has been a lot work put in to this calendar and the overall effect is good.

however i do like to think i can speek my mind on this forum and there one obvious issue and i think it spoils all of the photos, and that is the boarder effect that has been applied to all the pictures, i think it look crap and spoils an other wise faultless product.

still good to have on the wall.

Good effort to all involved in the production.

Nevman
06-12-2008, 08:39 PM
I don't mind the boarder.
There are always many ways and designs that something like that can be done and every solution would be liked by some and disliked by others.
Can't make everyone happy :D I'd personally do it completely different but definitely not perfect (i.e. colours). And some people would and some wouldn't like it.

Good job Keith :2thumbsup

Davezj
06-12-2008, 10:02 PM
I totally agree with you, it is personal taste.

it is just, i think the calendar would have looked much better without a boarder. it covers/encroches on the outline of the cars in some of the pics and in the rest it looks like..... i will stop there, it's not worth the back lash.

but as i siad before i concur with your statement.

Good Job Keith

it is not easy to do, i done the sport & social club running thing, you can't please all the people all the time, not even some of the people some of the time. i would settle for not upsetting anyone. but usually it was a case of that most of the people that attended my outing enjoyed them selves, but i did always enjoy the feedback that people gave what ever the outcome.

and it is only personal opinion

good job.

Always open to suggestions ,some like some dont, will always be that way.

First time Ive done anything like this and it has been abit stressful. Ive been working on this will looking for jobs ect and after the little upset with another company, you will have to go into the members site for that, it was time that was getting tight.

Last post to New Zealand was on the 5th December and we only got all the calendars and envolpes together on wednesday night, so I think you can understand what I was thinking then. Still they are on the way now.

If everybody wants this to go ahead with me and Chris next year I think that it should be put to the commitee. I have no probablems with that.

Castle Combe will be my stomping ground next year to get designs and other glitages sorted out and then a vote in july or august with the rest of the palava to follow after, so if you have any in put get down to Castle Combe 2009, ill be their, just waiting for offical thread to get started for the tickets and then ill be their with Mrs Fogre and the 2 litre beast.

I can see what you mean, Dave , about the boarder, with the picture in june. I quite like the boarder and as I say it was the time element that was the problem.

Problem sorted with that, start earlier next year. LOL

Just to let you know that a previous calendar topic inspired us at the Dutch GalantFans forums to have ourselves our own members-calender too. A couple of months ago we started asking our (just over 270) members to post up their favorite photographs they made of their cars. Well... we were quite surprised by the response we got and ended up with quite a good looking 2009 calendar which has been distributed as of since a couple of weeks to members who paid.

The calendar cover I created is a 'Truman Show'-like effect picture of us as founders of GF so there's me (left) and Mark (MD aka "Dutch Driver" on here) composed out of several thousand of Galant pictures, although only in real size this effect can be properly appreciated.

uploaded/1887/1228812061.jpg

Next to default holiday entries, we've added as much (related) car-shows/events in Holland to the calendar as we could dig up at that time for 2009. Don't know if you do the same on yours but if not then it might be an idea for next issue.

Thanks guys. Not sure if I should post all photo's in this topic, as this would be offtopic from the CVR4 calendar. I'll open up a separate topic to keep things clean, my initial idea about posting in this topic was to show appreciation for the fact that CVR4 has been doing this for (some?) years now and it is a great idea to get everyone polishing their cars and trying to produce great photo's, getting/holding on the club-spirit and the love for these great cars. I've just stumbled across this thread and have to say it was a brilliant idea Keith!

Shame I found it 6 months too late!

I'll make sure I bring the camera to JapFest and maybe grab some passing girlies to "work it" on the bonnet for the 2010 edition :D
