Hey guys, after a set of facelift steering knuckles/hub carriers with or without hubs, but with the ABS sensors.

Kempys quoted me $295 a side, yet quoted a mate of mine $195 a side. So I'm not sure what to believe.

Cheers!

You're in OZ though. Was your mate local and they quoted him a price not incl shipping?

Both prices were without shipping. But I found out that his price didn't include the hubs, which is fine with me as I don't need them.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but is the purpose of this to enable you to fit brembos to a PFL?

I guess you want them for a Brembo conversion. Let us know how you go with that. I'd also be interested in how much they charge you for shipping. Would guess it would be a lot as those things are pretty chunky pieces of metal and must weigh a few KGs.

Yes, these are for Brembo conversion. :)

Shipping cost to Sydney Austrlia is $89. Thats what they've charge me and hopefully would be the same with Paul.

Still waiting mine hopefully will show up mid next week.

Hmm, this makes it seem easy to fit brembos to a pre face lift. I'm going to be replacing the four bolt hubs on my st with 5 bolt hubs from a written off vr4 soon, so I might do it at the same time.

I have some Brembos I need to fit to my car, but as I usually do things at a glacial pace with regard to mods, it will be a while before those get fitted I'd say. Oh well.

I'm the same as you Robotnik, I bought these Brembos around a year ago! So, yes it's for the brembo conversion. I was going to get the right spacing just welded on, but these are cast units so no welding :(

The added complication with Brembos and other non-standard brakes in NZ is that they require a special technical inspection and certification. This costs about $500. People ignore this requirement sometimes, but I'd rather not. I am planning to get coilovers on the car too (another thing that needs a cert), so the Brembos can wait until I get those done and then it will go for the cert.

yes, but that is without the ABS sensor. £146 each side is still expensive.

$195 oz each side is about £80 and that includes the abs sensor.

Now that is cheap.

New ones are available from RHD but they have not confirmed the part numbers and they sell new abs sensors but again the part number needs to be confirmed. There new prices are very good compared to secondhand. Maybe you could just get the sensors from kempys

I paid £80GBP postage for hub carriers from NZ, they came by boat and took ages to get here!!

i am not in any rush, so for £240ish you could get brand new hub carriers and sensors. that is still not bad.

if there are any other people that require parts i could feel a group buy coming on and share out the postage cost which is quite significant part of the bill.

i will have to check out RHD as well.

just look at kempy on the web and they are a breaker yard not motor factors. and they are in New Zealand not OZ.

so are the part going to be new?

Are the price quoted in the first post in New Zealnd doller or OZ dollers. it makes a difference. NZ dollers would be £10 cheaper again (per side).

Yeah cert is a must if you want insurance to cover anything, its like driving around with no WOF.

But as far as costs, i got mine done for my suspension for $340 from a guy i have used twice now in auckland. Some guys charge a flat fee for the whole car, like $500, or $1000 for an engine swap. But some do it according to the number of mods. It pays to have a bit of a shop around.

But yeah, the process is a bit of a joke. baically he took some photos, took some measurements and did three braking tests. Took 1/2 an hour plus some paperwork..

Yea watch out for insurance with out cert. I got lucky, They haven't seemed to notice the non certified tein's on my car. I didn't even tell them i had them on the car. Woops. Nor did i tell them about the boost controller.

we don't have that problem in the UK as long as it is safe and it passes emission testing your OK.

can someone tell me if theses facelift hub carriers and ABS sensors are new parts and what is the part codes required to order them.

Ihave had a look on KEMPY's web site and it just seems to be a random selection of upgrade bits.

No actual mitsi parts.

Those guys are breakers, so the parts are almost certainly second hand. Their system may not be coded to use full Mitsubishi parts codes. I think you'd be best to phone or email and describe what you want.

Prices are NZ currency and the parts are secondhand.

Speak to Mike Ashton, he's a good bloke to deal with. Just tell Mike that you after a facelift bare upright with ABS lines. You don't need the hubs as you can use your existing hubs.

The part numbers for the knuckles are:

MR369426 Right side
MR369425 Left side.

FYI Pre-facelifts are:

MR223629 Right side
MR223628 Left side.

Looks like I'll have to go with Kempy's. But I'll check out RHD first, thanks for the tip!

EDIT: Just checked RHD Japan's site...$300 a side...Kempy's it is!
