hi guys.

ive got a bit of a water leak just above the passenger track rod end. its been suggested that it could be the overflow for the air con.

does anyone know if there is an overflow for the air con? and does anyone know where the water would come out?

just to add the water coming out was cold after a 2 hour trip.

thanks

I don't know if there is an overflow for the air con, but none of the air con stuff is housed on the passenger side. The pipes and compressor are all on the drivers side.

It is the condenser I think? Not sure what it's called, but basically it catches the water from the air in the cabin as the air cools down. Certainly, on a humid day a VR4 will throw a bit of water out there whilst the air con is running. It has done on every VR4 and V6 I have owned.

Yeah, its just condensate coming out.

The condenser obviously 'sweats' water out of the air as it cools it. That watter runs along a little channel in the bottom of the condensor box and exits out a little drain tube on the passenger side.

Cheers,

Ben.

air con works as a dehumidifier, thats wat is expelled from the outlet pipe on to the ground
