Chaps,

After the fun that was last Friday, when I toasted god-knows-what on my poor GLS, it would seem that the hi-contrast clocks I had got hold of were faulty anyway, as according to the info from Zedy and the walkthrough that Mirko has very kindly provided, the gauges should have worked without the backlighting circuit..... and the speedo and tachometer didn't....

This would explain why it's taken such a f11king long time to get this far!!!! :furious3:

On top of that, since the debacle of friday, my Sport clocks have had a mysterious 'accident' :shifty: and are now in the bin with the rest of the rubbish! :io:

Has anyone got a spare of Hi-contrast clocks so I can jump on this wonderful merry-go-round once again?!?!?!?!

Have you had that "I wish I'd never started this" thought, Kieran? ;)

Before your rubbish is taken.....maybe an idea to keep the old clocks and send to a auto clocks specialist - A pal of mine thought his Pug 306 (veglia) clocks were complete toast after he burnt out everything ( including the printed membrane and voltage reg) trying to fix his temp guage.
He sent them to some company he found on the web and got them back fixed for less than aton (compared to £450 for a new set).

Just an idea, don't know how practical it is though?

:lolz:

I wish I'd not bothered on Friday, certainly. However, we live and learn - It's Sod's law that someone posts EXACTLY how to do it, just after I've gone and busted something...

I just hope Mr Mitsubishi Dealer doesn't need several megapounds to fix what i've done!:end: :help:

Sure - the clocks are yours if you want them. They're complete and there's no external damage. I'm pretty sure they're busted, so yeah - they're free to a good home!! :-b

I'm busy tomorrow all day... But I'll let you know.
