Hmmm..... Looks pretty good, I'm not fussed on the diffuser shape you have there though. I prefer the japanese look of the diffuser.

bradc
22-10-2008, 07:07 AM

22-10-2008, 07:12 AM
Just on an aside. That's a really cool wee sketch up top IMO.

Goku
22-10-2008, 07:35 AM

Another vote for an RS6 style rear please.

Can you mock one up in a sketch?

Cheers,

The one that Goku has posted up a picture of is cool, where did you find that tray Goku?

VR4WGN
24-10-2008, 07:52 PM
so let me get this rite,i shud fabricate a factory vr4 rear bumper, then extend and round the rear off and make the diffuser and fabricate it onto the bumper as 1 and then the end of the diffuser bolts upto the rear tray frames??

bradc
24-10-2008, 10:06 PM
Well thats kind of what I was thinking yes, but you could obviously just reuse factory bumpers instead, mold the undertray into them and resell them.

24214

Thats the underside of it

It's from here http://www.revozport.com/revozportRT.htm

They are made for lotus' you can get them in either FRP: $600US or carbon: $900US

I don't know the dimensions of it, but I wouldn't mind grafting one into my rear bumper and running it a little way under the car.

They also make this one

24215

24216

FRP: $800US
Carbon: $1050US

Hard to choose between the two. I like how the second one has the little wing in the middle of it, but not the price!

Thats the exact sort of thing I'm looking for though.

Goku
25-10-2008, 12:54 AM
Same, I really, really like the first one.... but it's a tad too expensive for me.

I would have to modify it to sit my muffler in there... and of course mould it into my bumper some how..

VR4WGN
25-10-2008, 07:09 AM
wow they sell for that much?? ill be asking a mingy 3-500 lol,i can make them exact styles if you all want??you guys give me 1 style to make and ill make it ok,but give me a mmonth or 2,i got so many projects on the go,lol,i await your secision

VR4WGN
25-10-2008, 07:11 AM
and CF and CK is an option aswell guys instead of glass, but the price will bump up tho

bradc
25-10-2008, 07:31 AM
No need for those to be done in carbon, waste of money imho!

I think the 2nd option is the best, can you start working on that?

Goku
25-10-2008, 08:58 AM
yea, that would suits the legnums / 8G's better, the first one would suit my one more.

I think for the design, it needs to be the entire width of the rear if you get my meaning.... I'll draw up a design tonight to show you what I mean.

VR4WGN
25-10-2008, 09:38 AM
thatd be awsum man,i await it,email it to me aswell and ill start playing,um and this item will ONLY be available to CVR4 Members, not the public..so get me the design and start acumilating numbers for me aswell please as itll take a bitta product to make but easy to make tho so ill fit it in P/T for now till i free up from the new bonnet mold, ill play with this factory fibreglass rear bumper and see what i can do about running the diffuser the whole rear length and makesure its long enuf to tuck away under carriage or something, and just unbolts

Goku
25-10-2008, 11:15 AM
This is just a rough idea of what I ment

24218

The sizes are just a guide..... what do you guys think ?

VR4WGN
25-10-2008, 08:00 PM
ok ill start a drawing when i get back from church at 12 and post it,then you guys can let me know what you think

VR4WGN
26-10-2008, 01:11 AM
ok guys heres a drawing, let me kow what you think ,i have a rx7 batty,Vanquish rear bumper,it has the similar setup that your requesting, all we need to do is insert another spacer in

bradc
26-10-2008, 01:14 AM
yeah that looks cool. I was thinking you could have a smaller mid section and have an exhaust hole (or pair of) as well as the diffuser exactly how it was before, so it goes exhaust hole, then squarish shape, then long middle section with horizontal fin, then squarish shape, then exhaust hole again.

Will have to see what everyone else thinks!

djb160
26-10-2008, 01:43 AM
I think I'd have to see that drawn to understand what the hell you just described :D

VR4WGN
26-10-2008, 02:01 AM

VR4WGN
26-10-2008, 09:06 AM
please please tell me you all like this 1 best as i love this,i think iv created the masterpiece(hopefully),and they say D'Vinci is dead.....

bradc
26-10-2008, 09:20 AM
yeah thats more like it :) 5" wide space on either side for the exhausts, then about 5-7" or so inboard of that, then the big wide horizontal bar.

djb160
26-10-2008, 10:13 PM
Not for me personally. Too much like those mad vans the jap guys do up

VR4WGN
27-10-2008, 01:13 AM
the good thing bout this mold im going to be aking is that the back area will be able to be customed and ill b able to offer it in any of the 4 styles i hhave,so hope this works for most of you guys, but i quiete like the final one that brad was asking for

djb160
27-10-2008, 01:41 AM
Would you be able to incorporate the rear corners of a super galant kit into the design? That way it will match up from the sides while still giving you the back middle to play with.
(I can't seem to attach a picture atm for some reason)
(this is just a hack upload)http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/vbpgimage.php?do=full&p=2508

I don't see a reason to replace the whole bumper as the bumper itself is quite big and complex. I think it is easier just to offer the undertray as something that bolts onto the bottom of the existing bumper. Don't know if you'll be able to make that look any good though.

VR4WGN
27-10-2008, 07:11 AM
good thinking bro,,your correct however,im making this kit for myself and my mates legnums, and then offer a slightly different style for sale, however i can make just the undertray unit and then either cut and paste it as a bolt on unit as theyr originally designed to be,but further to that it would have to be a rear type lip that fits into the ridge on the bottom half of the factory bumpers,if you know what ridge im talking bout??,but see thus means that its just as much if not more effort to make it than a whole bumper and the price variation is mrginally close,im making the rear as a complete unti,BUT if you or others would like it as a lip style or Just the tray i will make it an sell it to you guys, your call bro,im easyly pleased either way

bradc
27-10-2008, 07:54 AM
Well the thing is, I've got a facelift, so you'd have to make facelift and prefacelift kits to make us all happy, would it not be easier to design two styles of lips rather than two styles of bumper?

VR4WGN
27-10-2008, 08:09 AM
bro ignore the fact that i mmaking the bumpers,i hate lips hence the rear bumper for myself, yes i will offer the lips in facelift and prefacelift,im doing a vr4 conversion in a facelift now and have alip for Sonar style made up that ill trial and see how fitment goes as far a smodding goes, but i dont see there being too much of a change in the shape,um it is however a hit financially to make these items, and my finances arent too happy at the mo,but i hope that changes when i go check my lotto ticket on friday morning, cross fingers lol...i can tel you now that a rear lip with an undertray built in as one will be round the 5-600 mrk ok,for either of the shapes, the diffusers alone have alot of glass laid in them and so do the lips and end caps, tell me however wich style endcap would you like me to use?? the Sonar Style or the facelift Galant End caps??

bradc
27-10-2008, 08:17 AM
Well I've actually got a set of EVO 5/6 rear wheel arch flares I've got here, so the sides of my rear bumper are going to be fairly custom, so I'm not too worried about it!

VR4WGN
27-10-2008, 10:01 AM
you spin me the ideas ok,
